1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of electrical services by South Coast Electrical Contractors Pty Ltd (“South Coast Electrical”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
By engaging South Coast Electrical to carry out works, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
2. Quotations

All quotations are valid for 14 days unless otherwise stated.

Quotes are based on the information available at the time of inspection.

Acceptance may be provided via written confirmation, email, signed quote, or instruction to proceed.
South Coast Electrical reserves the right to withdraw or amend a quotation prior to acceptance.
3. Scope of Works
Quoted works are limited to the items specifically listed.
Any additional works requested by the client, or required due to unforeseen site conditions, will be treated as a variation and charged accordingly.

4. Variations
Variations may arise due to:

Client-requested changes
-
Discovery of non-compliant wiring or switchboards
-
Hidden or concealed services
-
Structural or access limitations
-
Upgrades required under current Australian Standards
All variations may incur additional labour and material costs.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due within 7 days of invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For larger projects, progress payments may apply as outlined in the quotation.

Overdue accounts may incur interest and recovery costs, including debt collection and legal fees where applicable.
South Coast Electrical reserves the right to suspend works if payment terms are not met.

6. Compliance Certification (Form 12)
Electrical Safety Certificates (Form 12) are issued in accordance with Queensland legislation.
As these certificates are regulated compliance documents issued under our electrical contractor licence, they will be released upon receipt of full and final payment.

7. Existing Installations
South Coast Electrical is not responsible for defects in pre-existing wiring, switchboards, fittings, or electrical systems not directly modified as part of the contracted works.
Where existing installations are found to be non-compliant or unsafe, recommendations will be provided. Rectification works will be quoted separately unless otherwise agreed.

8. Access & Site Conditions
The client must provide safe and reasonable access to the work area.
Additional charges may apply where:

Access is restricted or obstructed
-
Work areas are unsafe
-
Equipment or materials cannot be installed as planned
-
Hazardous materials (including asbestos) are identified
Works may be delayed where conditions pose safety risks.

9. Warranty
South Coast Electrical provides a 12-month workmanship warranty from the date of completion.
Manufacturer warranties apply to all supplied materials and equipment.
Warranty does not cover:

Damage caused by misuse or third-party interference
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Alterations carried out by others
10. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, South Coast Electrical’s liability is limited to the rectification of works supplied.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss including loss of income, business interruption, or damage to appliances caused by pre-existing faults.

11. Retention of Title
All materials supplied remain the property of South Coast Electrical until payment has been received in full.
12. Cancellations
Cancellations within 24 hours of a scheduled booking may incur a call-out or administration fee.
13. Force Majeure
South Coast Electrical is not liable for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, including weather events, supply chain delays, utility outages, or government restrictions.

14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

15. Service Call Charges
South Coast Electrical is a mobile electrical contracting business. A standard service call applies to all service bookings and covers technician travel time, vehicle operating costs, tools, licensing, insurance, and administration associated with attending site.
The service call includes attendance by our electrical team and up to the first hour of labour. This charge applies regardless of the time required to complete the work on site.
Where additional labour is required beyond the first hour, labour will be charged at the applicable hourly rate.
By requesting a booking, accepting a quotation, or permitting work to commence, the client acknowledges and agrees to these charges.
